It might be a good book for someone else but I just couldn't get interested in it.
After avoiding reading it for 3 days I've decided to just walk away.
For me it was just too slow and boring.

Holly Reineer is a young woman who is a powerful spirit witch who lives in Christmas Grove, a small town where everyone knows each other and is an extremely happy place to live, a place when she sees someone's future, she knows she can talk to them and help it become reality, but it is also somewhere that doesn't see new people arrive, so when a new and gorgeous man walks into town, she is immediately attracted to him. Rex Holiday is a young man with a strong earth-based magic and as such, he is always wanting to be outside in nature and never stays in one place for too long, however, when he sees a beautiful young woman, he is immediately floored by her and feels the need to get to know her.

Unfortunately, for both Holly and Rex, a matchmaker also sees their immediate connection and slips a love potion into their drinks, but both are determined to fight their feelings for each other, especially when they both know a temporary fling is not something either of them want. That all comes crashing down around them as they discover more about each other and realise that they may not be able to keep up the resistance and soon, their walls come crumbling down and are both accepting of the fact that temporary or not, resistance is futile.

As the days pass and the time for his departure moves closer, Holly sees a glimpse of his future, she knows it will break her heart, so she doesn't tell Rex and lets him go, but will they be able to break off what they have finally found, or will they just go back to how things were before? Thiis is a sweet romance which is filled with magic, as bonds are built and broken, feelings uncovered and all with a festive background which will endear you to the characters and Christmas Grove community throughout.

This read very much like a contemporary romance with a sprinkle of magic rather than a paranormal romance set at Christmas, which is a very different vibe than I was expecting. It was a cute story and will fill you with the warm fuzzies. It was a bit too sickly sweet for me but if you like Christmas mushy romance then you might like this one

I really wanted to enjoy this book. I was totally bought and sold on the witch- Christmas premise and I had to eventually come to the realization that these were not going to be fun elements of the story but one off gimmicks used to create misunderstanding and convenient work-arounds for the author.
There was this moment when the ML, Rex, is talking to his sister and he calls her ‘baby’ and then ‘baby girl’ and I got the ick so bad. He did not call the FL ‘babe’ until after his sister entered the plot and I’m sorry but gag. I was curious about Ilsa and Zach but Zach has the personality of a piece of wood and Ilsa… oh Ilsa.

Rex and Holly honestly had a very straightforward romance. There was a misunderstanding that was literally cleared up in two pages… but hey… I guess the story did need to be wrapped up in time for Christmas.
