An interesting story in a beautiful and intriguing setting. Wasn't a huge fan of the writing but enjoyed it.

Very "matter of fact" writing.
One of those books that gets better at the end so you want to rate it higher.
Clearly shows the way time changes things other than just nature (her husband was 17 years her senior, environmentalism changes to solar now, etc)

One of the most influential books I ever read. I wrote to the author through the publisher and received a written response and autographed book.

Enjoyable read. I knew little of the Adirondack mountains so that was fun. I generally enjoy a deep dive in living with nature so it was worth the read for me.
