Encouraging and funny, just like Geth. I’m a Beautiful Anonymous podcast fan and had to do the audiobook version, but I didn’t get around to listening to the bonus content before it was due back at the library.

As a massive fan of Chris Gethard's for several years now, I've had this on 'my list' since it came out. Admittedly, the rating would probably be a 3.5 but I will gladly round up to 4 in this case.

The reasons I've long been in Gethard's corner (even though he has zero idea who I am) are on full display throughout this book. He's authentically himself, he's got an incredible work ethic, his sense of humor is very much in line with mine (goes without saying), and he's got a level of determination that only few possess.

Throughout Lose Well, he tells stories that illustrate those qualities, that explain the origin stories of some of those traits, and reflects on how he found success.

I'll leave you with this, if you like rooting for the underdogs, this book is for you. Oh, and if you haven't yet, you should definitely go watch the Dumpster episode of The Chris Gethard Show. You won't regret it.

The book I wish I’d read during my downest days.

I listened to the book - read by Chris. I enjoyed the stories through out the book. I listen to Chris's podcast and am a general fan of his. This book was interesting for me to hear these stories about his past and how he got where he is. It is his story and I enjoyed that.

I read another review that said "It’s honestly probably just a 3-star book, but I find Gethard just so damn charming that it earns the book another star" and YES that's right. Also, Gethard is very, very earnest. Some people just are trying to build a brand when they write a book like this, and I get the sense he really genuinely wants to connect with people which deserves a quarter of a star at least.

The self help angle falls flat sometimes, but Gethard has made a career of going all out; missing the mark comes along with that risk. At its heart there are good stories. If you didn't read his first book do that first.
