The ending . . . DAMN, I DID NOT SEE THAT COMING. I predicted General Sorrengail would die but I thought maybe Violet would get taken by the Sage or something. So yeah, I am still completely shocked by that ending, maybe even a little pissed, and will be sending Rebecca Yarros my next therapy bill.

It's a nice book. I liked the political aspect as well the world building. The new characters are great and I want to see more of them.
I just got too tired of the same discussions of Xaden and Violet. At one point, I began to skip most of their lines because it felt so repetitive and tiring.

The book is not inventing anything new but has my interest to check what will happen next.

TOO LONG and why am I copy editing a book while I’m reading it? Again fun enough story where I still want to know what’s next but just clunky and poorly over written
