One of the most enjoyable books I’ve read in a long time! Absolutely hilarious and heartfelt, with adventure, mayhem, magic and romance. Sauron meets The Princess Bride!

Thank you to Libro.fm for my copy. These opinions are my own.

Thank you to NetGalley and Titan Books for the eARC!

Dreadful is a hilarious misadventure of a Dark Wizard who’s forgotten pretty much everything about himself and why he’s missing his eyebrows.

As Gav figures out who he was (apparently a Dread Lord in a castle full of goblins), he also has to come to terms with his past self’s extravagant decor choices, a princess locked in the cells, and evil colleagues that have an evil plan to execute.

I laughed out loud many times while reading this chaotic tale. Gav really is in quite the predicament and it’s a lot of fun seeing how he tries to crawl out from the consequences of his past self’s actions.

Highly recommend if you liked the Dungeons and Dragons: Honour Among Thieves movie. It has that same comedic whimsy.
