Note: i listened to the audiobook and definitely recommend going this route
***
I really really enjoyed this book!! So unsettling and spooky from the beginning but not TOO much that it feels like there’s nothing left to discover or anticipate. You can definitely feel the passion and love the author put into this work.
The only thing is that I feel like it was a tad too long and Part 4 could have been significantly shorter (it felt like it dragged jusy a bit in some areas of this part). However, this wasn’t bad enough for me to dock the rating.

So while not perfect,  my enjoyment of this book is really what drove me to give it 5 stars. Anything less would feel disingenuous.

This book definitely reads like it was written for reddit. That being said, its a fun and captivating story.

Very creepy and spooky!! I understand why there were so many loose ends left at the end of the book but I still didn't like it. Things were left too open-ended for my tastes, but the rest of the book was really eerie and left me feeling scared to venture out into the dark.

I wish the plot had been more cohesive or engaging but the spooky moments were very well done! The scene where
Felix notices that Faye's creepy movements are synchronized with the creepy shadowy figure outside the window
will be stuck in my imagination for a solid minute.

I can't speak on the Indigenous representation as a non-Indigenous person but I think I have mixed feelings on it?
