Dark, twisted and unapologetic in its approach - the best way I can describe this book is raw.  I devoured it (pun fully intended).

The author undeniably has a fluid and effective style. She describes the scenes with such a level of detail that you can visualize them effortlessly, to the point where it becomes sickening. The issue for me is not so much the cannibalism itself, but the fact that everything is so intimately tied to sexuality. Necrophilia, HIV deliberately transmitted, pleasure found in flesh and entrails… it’s this combination that makes the reading truly nauseating.

I respect that she set out to provoke and explore taboo themes, and in that sense she achieves her goal. But to call it “macabre poetry”? No. It’s raw, sordid, pathological, but certainly not poetic. I close this book with a sense of unease, recognizing its impact, but seeing nothing more than a grim uppercut.
