Started with this book from the Legal Affairs series and cannot wait to indulge in the other books. Cal and Macy’s fire is the kind that can only be ignited by the pure unadulterated spark born from mutual “hatred.”

Sawyer Bennett has become one of my go-to authors for an afternoon delight. ❤️‍🔥

🎙️ The narrators gave great performances. I highly recommend the audiobook.

Review originally posted at Ramblings From This Chick

Clash is the first part of Cal and Macy's story from Sawyer Bennett. This serial is a spin-off of her Legal Affairs series featuring Matt and Mac. I hadn't read their story before starting this one, but I didn't have any problems understanding anything. I do want to go back and read their story though, as I really like them so far in this story.

Cal and Macy really don't like each other, unfortunately for them they share the same best friend. Because of Mac, these two are forced to see each other more than they would like resulting in verbal insults every time. Cal thinks that Macy is nothing more than a rich uptight snob, and Macy thinks that Cal has a holier-than-thou attitude. But when the tension between them finally explodes, they quickly realize that they might not have really known the other at all. Now all they can think about is how the hottest sex of their lives was with each other. But can these two find something in each other that they never expected, or will it lead to disaster?

I have to admit that I liked Cal right away, but not Macy. Cal was different than pretty much every hero that I have ever read before. He was able to admit his mistakes (and he knows he made a huge one!) and he was honest about what he wanted. He wasn't afraid of commitment and he genuinely wants to settle down! That was so refreshing to me, and I loved that he was so envious of what Mac and Matt have. He knows that Macy is pretty much the exact opposite of what he is looking for, except the one area that they are surprisingly perfect for one another, the bedroom. Macy came off exactly how Cal depicted her, although the more that we get to see of her, she also comes off as a bit crazy-pants as well. Seeing her thoughts through her diary, I was actually beginning to wonder what kind of crazy she is hiding. I liked that she has Mac in her corner and that Mac didn't say anything to Cal about what is going on with her, other than to clue him in that not everything is as it seems with her. But I am still kind of skeptical on her at this point, and I hope that she becomes more likable as the series continues. The passion between these two is explosive, but I am not sure how much of a connection these two will have.

I am curious to see how it all plays out though, and I will try not to be too judgmental on Macy until I am given more. But right now they definitely have the sex part down. These two are super hot together, and I expect that it will just get better as the story continues. Sawyer Bennett is a great writer, and her books are always filled with sexy and steamy scenes. I am looking forward to reading Grind next, as well as going back to read Matt and Mac's story as well.

I really keep trying to get into this chick's writing, but I cannot. do. it.

No idea why, because the reviews rave, but man... Just not entertaining at all.

I love all of Sawyer's book, she can do no wrong, but there's something special about her legal affairs ones. I'm not sure if it's all the legal talk or the intensity of them, but I was thrilled to hear that another serial was coming out and that it was Cal and Macy! I always thought Cal was hot, but when you get inside his head, whoa man! The tension between these two is crazy. They hate each other. It's all insults and jabs until one day Macy goes too far by literally threatening his manhood. Macy is sassy, hot and sexy. She uses men like others use tissues and she's not shy about it. Cal thinks she's sexy as hell and has often fanaticized about her and her dirty mouth. A chance encounter in a closet brings these together in a show down of who's right, but leads them to the best sex of their lives. Macy offers him a repeat, something she never does. Cal contemplates it but knows it's a terrible idea, but when she shows up at his office in a killer dress and nothing more, his resolve crumbles. Killer cliffhanger!! Sawyer is lucky I already have Grind!

My dream fantasy would be to find a gorgeous wife that fucks like a porn star, is independent yet warm, and it equally as adept to baking cookies as she is at running a million-dollar operation.

"I could bend over your desk. You could hike my dress up and slam into me really hard. I'm already wet for you."

"Knock it off, Macy," I growl.

HOLY HOT!!! This little trilogy sure packs a lot into 12 hours!!! I loved their story, I loved how amazingly HOT they were together and I loved the story line... I loved it all! Cal & Macy are opposite of almost every book I've read this year and that just made it even better. I would have to say 100% Hot, 75% romantics/sweet and 75% gripping plot, what more could you want! The narration was perfect too!

Another slam dunk for Sawyer Bennett!!
The heat coming off this book should have melted my kindle!!
Cal and Macy were off the charts, the bonus of hot angry closet sex is amazing. If you loved Macy in the legal affairs series you will really love her story now. We get a glimpse into why Macy acts the way she does and we see why she calls Cal "Saint Cal" for all the wrong reasons. You need to one click this one now it's amazing

A 5 STARS BABBLING CHATTER READS MUST-READ FAVORITE!
#clash #thelegalaffairsseries #calandmacystory #sawyerbennett

Oh, wow. This book left me so breathless with how insanely hot it is, given that this is only the beginning. That kitchen pantry scene? Oh my goodness. When you get to that scene? Please make sure you have something to grip tight. It will wind you up so freaking bad. This probably has to be one of the hottest books I've ever read and to think this is the first Sawyer Bennett book for me. I can't imagine what the second book to this series, Grind, has in store for us. I am so definitely looking forward to that one!

Cal Carson is a drop dead lawyer who is currently looking for a woman he could settle down with. He knows deep down he is more than ready to start his own family—the perfect wife who is insanely good in bed and his own beautiful kids. He thought he found his safe choice for that. But is he really willing to force himself on someone who he cannot even connect with? Who he finds boring, whiny and has him thinking about a completely different woman just to get him engaged and interested in sex? He never knew that one explosive act of all that pent up energy and bantering with Macy would change it all for him.

Macy Carrington is the exact opposite of what Cal wants in a woman, obviously. She's smart, gorgeous and so rich, she could buy anything and everything she wants in life, but no one can really get everything, can they? She comes out bitchy and catty to others, and sleeps with a different man almost every night. But behind that persona, there's something more going on with Macy. Which maybe justifies the fact that there's really more than meets the eye. And that you should never judge another person without ever knowing them full and well. ~Renery 5 stars

I've read plenty of Sawyer Bennett's books over time but nothing prepared me for this! Ladies, bring me some cold towels because I need something to cool me down!!!

This story may be short but it's so deliciously hot it will leave you craving more...So much more. Scouts honor.

Cal & Macy have a love hate relationship. They both also happen to be best friends with Mc Kayla "Mac" Dawson Connover. Which means, yup they have to see each other at the same events. Throw some lust in there and this story will leave you breathless!

I know I was. Looking forward to the next installment. Well done Sawyer Bennett!!! ~Joanna, 5 stars

To say that Macy Carrington is a pain in the a$$ is putting it very nicely according to Cal Carson. She is the bi$#% that gets under his skin and their hopeless encounters entails constantly wanting to have the last word with one another. They have a love/hate relationship that gets them nowhere. Until one unexpected encounter in the kitchen pantry changes the communication between one another. Add to the mix a case that cannot be denied that will make or break the affair.

She and I are like oil and water. We don’t mix at all. Or maybe we’re a bit more volatile, like baking soda and vinegar.

OH.MY.HOLY.HOTNESS! This is the first book and series I have read by this author and WOW did it seriously not disappoint! She starts of the series with a bang and gets you easily hooked on Cal and Macy’s hot and cold relationship through the utter frustration and/or tension (inevitably sexual) between the two characters. The flow of the word written easily creates the scenes unfolding in your imagination. A scorching 5 stars read will get you itching for more especially how the novella ends. Needless to say this is a must-read! ;) ~Cristina, 5 stars

ARC received for an honest review

This is a spin off of Ms Bennett's Legal Affairs series, so if you have read that, you will have already have met Cal (but if you haven't, there is enough info that you won't feel like you are missing out)

This is s novella to start Cal and Macy's story, and boy what a start it is

"Saint" Cal and Macy Carrington are an explosion waiting to happen. Their bickering and sniping at each other is months of foreplay, and now they just need to play the main game.

Holy Hoteness Batman!!! That spark finally lights an inferno between them, and things are never going to be the same for either of them.

I loved these two together. Assumptions are made, words are spoken - though even though they are nasty things they say to each other, they are said with a good dose of humour too.

I really want, no need to know what happens with this pair, and even though yes, this does end on a cliffhanger, there is not long to wait until the next installment - which is a full length novel woohoo!
