Loved loved loved it!!! The characters are interesting, funny and believable. I love the relationship and the communication between Sally and Noah and how they grow individually and together. The setting of the novel is very interesting and makes me want to rewatch all of 30 Rock.

Sittenfeld manages to create a beautiful love story, smart and funny dialogue whilst holding a mirror up to our pandemic stricken world who is obsessed with the Kardashians. I very badly want Romantic Comedy to become a movie directed by Lena Dunham. Please please please let it happen!

Perfectly lovely book, but the second half lets it down. The first half was very engaging, but I put the book down for quite a few weeks when I got the second part, because I didn’t really care about what happened to the characters. However I am glad I picked it back up because I did like the ending. I also just don’t love the pandemic being referenced at all in books/TV/film personally!

What just happened? Did ANYTHING even happen?

These characters STINK. Sally does not deserve Noah. She's 38 and still has the mindset of a teenager!! I understand how insecure she's feeling, but Noah has shown her nothing but love and compassion, she has GOT to give it a rest. More importantly, how... how is Sally a comedy writer? She isn't funny during... ANY point of this book?

As soon as rl politics are brought up: cringe, triggered, get away from me!!! Same with covid in general, I don't want to be reminded, please and thanks.

This book makes me want to take a break from reading... oof.

This book was really fun, especially if you’re a fan of SNL and don’t mind pandemic themes. I found the main character to be deeply frustrating. She constantly seemed to be on the verge of making a big breakthrough about her insecurities but it took forever for her to actually get there. That element got old fast.

i really enjoyed reading this novel and its wit. I've always enjoyed watching comedy skits and have been intrigued about what goes on behind the scenes of a comedy live show, so being able to picture it was satisfying. I confess it was a bit dull when the pandemic was mentioned, but that's only because I refuse to watch or read anything that discusses covid. It’s like getting war flashbacks
