What a gem of an author! I started this book immediately after finishing her other book. The main characters are dynamic and interesting.

I felt this may be one of those the covers does not match the content? I was expecting to see Lucy's reflective journey as she grows, but you would not be able to tell she's almost 50 based on the cover. It was more of a "whelp this is where I am" kinda story...which is a hard sell for me honestly.

I received an ecopy of this book through Netgalley; however, my opinions are my own.

I rarely come across middle-aged main characters in romance books so I was excited to read this one (despite the cover seeming to look a lot younger). However, this was such a letdown.

I honestly didn't know what I'd do if I’d to read about painting walls one more time. I’d to DNF at 33% as I'm just not connecting with any of the characters. I feel like I'm consistently being pulled from the story since none of them is acting like their age.

Still, my thanks to St. Martin's Griffin, NetGalley and the author for my copy. All opinions are honest and my own.

This book has charming and felt like a Hallmark movie meets HGTV. It was a cute story, though it had big moments of sad and darkness, but ultimately the way the story ended made me love it. I’m such a sucker right now for a good chosen-family / strong community story.

I’d say 3.5 stars!! I enjoyed it, but it just kind of drug a little for me. I wasn’t reaching for it as often as I hoped. But a cute story nonetheless!

the Idea of the book is what interested me the most, but it fell short as to what I expected when starting this book.

I would not classify this as a romance, and it is not about a late 20 something either. It’s more of a fiction book with some romance staring a late 40 year old.

Don’t get me wrong it was good and I love a lot of parts of it but, it was not at all what I was expecting and disappointing in the end. That’s why I gave this book a 2/5.
