This was my most anticipated book of August and it did not disappoint at all. It met all of my expectations.

The fantasy was epic, the characters were charismatic, the magic was refreshing, the plot was intense. It has all the ingredients of an amazing story that we fall in love with and dream about.

I read LJ Andrew’s Broken Kingdom series and loved her writing style and the characters she introduced me to. You don’t need to read the series to understand follow this one, but they do relate if you wanted to dig deeper into this world. I cannot wait to read the next book in this series!

I adore this book and I think LJ Andrews might be one of my new favorite authors. I was super confused at first with the magic system and how everything worked but once I went back and read it again, I was good to go. I love the imagery Andrews evokes in her writing, and I lost myself in the world and the characters. I also liked how whenever characters had conflicting emotions she wrote it as the two sides colliding. Chef's Kiss!
