If you've read the first three of the trilogy, this one is a must! It's a wonderful look at some of the same events, but through different eyes. My only complaint would be that I wished it was longer. :) But I'm greedy that way. This is one of my favorite series of all time, and she can probably never write too much in it for me.

I’m not entirely sure why I read this whole series because I found the idea great but the execution lacking. I found it boring and relied too much on a dumb protagonist.

The first half seemed to be the strongest part of the book. The last fourth seemed to go on a bit of a tangent. I think this may have been a result of the author feeling that their needed to be tension, but not knowing what to do as there wouldn't be much tension for our main characters according to the series established chronology, but that's the problem with prequels/books that happen concurrently with another that takes place in the same time period.

Overall, I enjoyed a chance to spend more time in the "feed" world . . . even if the post zombie apocalypse future isn't necessarily pleasant in and of itself. :)
