I feel like I can't rate it any higher despite how much I enjoyed it because I stopped like 3 chapters from the end then just forgot about it for a couple months.

Perjalanan Shiori di The Dragon's Promise banyak banget. Dimulai dari Laut Ai'long buat melawan para naga, habis itu ke gunung suci buat ngelawan Bandur, terus lanjut perjalanan ke kampung halamannya Raikama.

Kalau yg six crimson cranes (seri 1) bacanya agak lambat, mungkin ya baru permulaan. Terus baca the dragon's promise ngelarinnya cepet banget, memang seseru itu. Suka sama world building seri 2 ini, beautiful ending ❤

While I would say I enjoyed this book as a whole, I do think it's weaker than the first book. It felt as if the last 100 pages were meant to be a whole different book, and honestly it probably could have been. Everything that happens in the last 100 pages feels very rushed and disconnected from the rest of the book. I had also hoped that Shiori might have learned to weild her magic a bit more in this one and that is very much not the case.
