dangerously self-aware, a parodic number though perhaps not so slyly as a certain other text I'm reading,, in a way Measure dares you to like it. a sadistic comedy , transported to the hobbesian world

this is really banal but it just reads so well , so airy , maybe I just feel spoiled bc I've been trying to scan big chunky proust sentences

One of my favorites from Shakespeare, I think it has so many relevant ties to the present moment. I find new ones every time I read it

The most bizarre Shakespeare I've read so far. Not his best

I love this play so much. I have read it so many times. It has one of the most fucked up endings in all of Shakespeare. It is one of the most relevant of his plays today. I love how he tackles devotion, capital punishment, hypocrisy, and the plight of women. So much to say.

I don't know why this play gets such a bad rap. It's not any more or less preposterous or difficult than some of the ones that get produced constantly. It has absolutely hilarious scenes that had me cracking up throughout. I am now fully on-board with producing this show one day.
