The depth of Swift's satire against Newton, George I, and the English monarchy as a whole is brilliantly unrivalled, voraciously defending the Irish. He also offers interesting viewpoints on the idea of animal rationis capax, and with that, some ugly truths about humanity — what makes humans human? Does our ability to reason justify superiority over animals, or does that make us the worser parties?

I only liked Brobdingnag. Terrible plot. Very boring. How do people read this "for fun"?? However, Captain Gulliver is funny to think about.

Antes de mais, agradecer à minha prima por me ter emprestado este livro. Em bom tempo lho devolverei, se Deus quiser.
Este livro é genial. Não encontro outra palavra para tudo o que de bom tem: a coerência do enredo, as aventuras descritas, a sátira imbuída... Impressionante!
A edição original remonta a 1726 e, ainda assim, é perfeitamente possível rever as críticas feitas pelo autor e transportá-las para este nosso tempo. 
Vale mesmo muito a pena ler esta obra. Se não tiverem, peçam emprestada à minha prima.
