I need to stop reading classics for a while. I know there is a gem in there somewhere. I know it is a great satire on human civilization and all that. I know, I know. I am really trying to appreciate it, but it was just... so.... dry! *cough*.
The audible narrator also didn't improve the experience at all. All I can say at this point is that I slept really well to it.
I am definitely gonna give it another try some time later, probably will be reading it instead of listening.
Current rating would be 2 stars, will update 2021 ;)

As a novel, Gulliver's Travels is formulaic, absurd, long-winded. However, it is not meant to be a novel. It is a satire. You are meant to see all the clever references to the politics of the time and understand the reflections on human nature that the authour engages in.
For me, this did not make for very engaging writing. I also found it quite boring at times, especially in Part IV, where he spends a good part of 60 pages relaying conversations he had with a horse.

Although it starts off strong, Gulliver’s Travels tends to have a bit of a repetitive nature, likely due to the matter-of-fact way the author describes events (probably owing to the fact that it is written in the style of a travel book). However, the events and people described in the book are well-described and interesting, making the book marginally better.

Opá, que livro incrível! Dividido em 4 partes, e cada parte em 10-12 capítulos, é um livro fácil de ler e que tem muito para contar. Um dia atualizo esta review, porque tenho muito para escrever e muito sono para o fazer.
