Reading this book is like meeting with an old friend, like a breeze you smell that reminds you of your childhood, when you dreamed of discovering things never seen or heard of before. Or at least, that's what reading this book is to me.

I may not be the hardcore, Tolkien-exclusive reader I was in middle school, but I'll never stop loving the universe he crafted. Nor will I ever stop adoring these characters. There's a reason the Hobbit is one of the best selling English books ever. It's a delight to read, and I cannot wait until I meet with Bilbo and Company again.

Una historia bastante entretenida, sin embargo, me costó mucho trabajo terminarla. Para mi gusto tiene demasiadas aventuras o mini historias y eso llega a ser abrumador. De cualquier manera, es muy buena la forma de escribir de Tolkien.

I loved this book in high school, so decided a reread would be good. Now that I have read a lot of fantasy I found this book to be very slow.

My main issue was things that needed to be longer scenes just weren't but descriptions of things not always important were the longest. This bothered me more than it should've.

A lovely tale of light-hearted shenanigans. I found it easy to fall into the world with the beautiful writing and ever present adventures! This book (and I'm almost positive those that follow) was a treat! A lovely escape from the real world that definitely didn't help my hiking in nature urge! The ending felt a bit rushed, but overall I loved this book through and through. I can't wait to continue the journey!

It takes a little bit to get used to Tolkien's writing style as a first time reader but once it clicks this is one of the best.
