I’ve been loving Jewel E. Ann books, but this one was too cheesy maybe? It reminded me of the show 7th Heaven.

This is the second book in the Sunday Morning series. I loved the first book and wasn’t sure how I would feel about this one. Eve our MFC is an 18 year old who just graduated from high school, she works at the town motel cleaning the rooms. She really has no ambitions or aspirations yet. She doesn’t want to go to college and is struggling to find herself as she lives with her parents and sister. Her father is a pastor who is very strict with her giving her a curfew and punishing her by sending her to her bedroom for being fresh. I had to remind myself often this book is set back in the 1980’s before cell phones and a host of electronic devices. Kyle’s and his son Josh move in next door. Kyle is twenty eight, a new high school math teacher and a football coach. Eve fascinates him and she reminds him of himself. Her smart mouth, her jokes even her outlook on life. Kyle is very closed mouth about Josh’s mom. Most of what we learn about Kyle’s comes from his friend Adam.
Age is truly nothing but a number. I thought initially I might have difficulty with a 18 year old dating a 28 year old man but this story really was very sweet. You can sense Kyle’s difficulty with accepting their relationship and then understanding he just can’t resist her and nor does he want to. You begin to admire the tenacity of an 18 year old to go after what she wants. I enjoyed this story immensely the age became irrelevant and it was more about the characters and how they just fit together and completed each other. I cannot wait to read gabby’s story.

I will never get enough of Jewel's characters and stories. Kyle and Eve have a forbidden romance which is one of my favorite tropes... Add in a single dad, neighbor, small town, age gap and it's like catnip for me. This love story starts out as a teenage crush. Eve agrees to babysit for the hot single dad that moves in nextdoor. Josh is his 5 year old son and I just adored the relationship that Eve builds with him. Kyle does some of the dreamiest things. Eve's parents just dance on my last nerves, but you get more insight to their relationship in this story. I just didn't want this to end at all!!

The Apple Tree is the 2nd book in the Sunday Morning series - a series set in the 1980's, about three sister, that live in a small town, with a pastor as a father. This book focuses on the middle daughter, 18 years old Eve and her father's best friend's younger brother, 28 year old Kyle.
This single dad, age gap, forbidden tale was an emotional read that gave all the feels and it's a story filled with secrets, lies, family, friendships, love, acceptance, tension and angst.
Eve and Kyle were perfect together. From their first meeting, I was instantly captivated with these two wondering how they would find their HEA. They had undeniable chemistry and I loved the banter and I enjoyed the slow burn of their romance.
This was a well-written, highly compelling tale that kept me hooked until the end. I loved it and would definitely recommend it to romance lovers.

OMG nobody does it like Jewel!
The age gap trope usually grosses me out (maybe I’m old 😏) but literally jewel will make me obsessed with any trope!
The Apple Tree is the second book in the Sunday Morning Series. Eve is 18 and the middle daughter to her mom and pastor dad. She instantly crushes on her new neighbor who is 10 years older than her and a single dad! I have to say, the character development in this book was 💯. It’s almost like I didn’t realize how “young” the FMC was in the beginning until you see her growth over the course of the book!
I freaking love Eve. She is a hilarious, sarcastic character that literally made me LOL. Cannot wait for Gabby’s book!!!

While I didn’t love this *quite* as much as Sunday Morning, I still devoured it. This series is everything and I love the angst and tension so much
I cannot wait for the next book
