Listen, any book by Jewel E. Ann is an automatic “most anticipated” but, THIS book had a little extra edge in the “can’t wait to read it” category! After meeting Eve in Sunday Morning, book one of the series, I KNEW her story was going to be SO good and I was absolutely correct!
Eve is the middle Jacobson sister, the uninhibited, wild child of the local preacher and his wife. Kyle is the hot, single dad next door who has recently been hired as the high school football coach. He is also the brother of Eve’s dad’s best friend and 10 years her senior. But, that doesn’t stop the immediate attraction she has for him or her desire to make things happen. After all, she just turned 18, she’s a legal adult, and she can make her own damn decisions.
You will never convince me there is a better storyteller than Jewel E. Ann. There were so many layers to this story that it drew me deeper and deeper with each turn of the page.
I thoroughly enjoyed that Eve was written as an unapologetic woman coming into her own and experiencing her first true touch of love. Her unbridled passion for life, even if it at times seemed age-appropriately directionless, was contagious throughout the book and perfectly matched the needs of Kyle and his son, Josh. She was unabashedly herself with a mask of strength and youthful vulnerability that made her undeniably endearing. Kyle was a phenomenal hero for this story! He recognized Eve’s reckless nature and loved her for it. He saw himself within it and gave Eve someone who understood her in a way that no one else in her life ever truly had. He supported her through so many growing pains and helped her forge a maturity and growth in her character that was heart-warming. His son, Josh, connected with Eve in such a special way and their bond throughout the book made for one of my biggest moments of tears.
The Apple Tree is so much more than a forbidden, age-gap romance. It’s a love story enveloped in human authenticity, a relatable mess of complex relationships, it’s wildly charming with a huge heart, and, it’s an absolute must read!

This is one of the best books I’ve ever read. I am obsessed. I consumed this book in a day. I went to sleep at 2.30am and suffered through work the next day but it was so worth it!! I love a forbidden romance and I don’t think I’ve read a better one than this. Age gap/ forbidden/ pastors daughter/ AMAZING BANTER/ Hilarious FMC and an MMC that just gets her/ single dad/ laugh out loud moments but then moments where your heart is breaking. GO READ THIS BOOK! Thank you Jewel E Ann this is why I love books so much and I can’t remember the last time I was so captivated by one.

I am so glad that I have finally read Jewel E. Ann. I love this series so much. I knew I was going to love Eve's story so much and The Apple Tree did not disappoint. I loved Eve and her sense of humor, she is very sarcastic and I loved that. You could really feel the tension between her and Kyle from the very beginning, they completed each other. She was great with Josh I loved the moments we saw with them two. I was not expecting to cry like a baby towards the end but I did. Jewel E Ann not only gives you romance, she gives you a story that will gut wrench you.
