An entertaining journey through the history of London as seen by the 'mudlarks' who patrol its banks. It makes one want to get out and comb the nearest creek or beach at first opportunity. Worth a look.

I liked it! It's a nice walk along the Thames with someone who is clearly passionate about mudlarking and history, but I could have definitely done without the autobiographical aspects of the book.
Loved this and would like to re-read because I listened to it in audiobook form and missed some detail. Might want to check out her notes and references too. I have always had the fantasy of seeing what is at the bottom of the ocean. This books reveals what is at the bottom of the river Thames.
What a book!! Amazing. I didn't want it to end. Full of fascinating stories linked to all the artefacts found on the foreshore. I hope she writes another book. Next time I go to London, I'm going to take a long walk along the Thames.
Great read for a Sunday afternoon - a fascinating glimpse into London history, through objects once lost to water and time. The book is, however, a tad repetitive, hence the 3 star rating.
This is the first time that someone that I follow and love on Instagram wrote a book. I loved reading about the places along the Thames and the treasures she finds. She gives us enough history to be excited with her for her finds. Not the book for everyone but if you love treasure hunting and history this one is fascinating.
Will return to the places with a new eye. History and geography and the personal in the mud of the Thames
