Wow. Just wow. I had the pleasure of meeting Meg Rosoff (she's also the winner of the Astrid Lindgren prize, and rightly so) and she is definitely something else. She captures voice so well in her work. It's an incredible thing to read. This novel is heartbreaking, but beautiful. It really shows what different kinds of effect war can have on people. As for her other novels, they are incredible as well. I urge you to read at least one novel by Rosoff in your lifetime. You will not regret it.
I had no memory of downloading this book and had no idea of what it was. What an unexpected adventure through world war! And through the kids point of view.

Uhm okay… it was interesting then got weird. Like weird weird, taboo weird. The main plot tho, was super interesting, it was written kinda like a diary entry and her pov of the war/life. Major con tho was there’s no quotation marks, it’s just ___ said/says. A nice short book tho!
