Freaking amazing! I loved everything about the book, every surprise was like a shock especially one scene... won't tell but it will blow your socks and maybe pants off. Can't wait for Boundless. Need to buy Radiant on my Kindle...I'll do that now. 4 stars

This book was so good! Even better than the first one. I'll have the review up soon!

Hallowed picks up right where Unearthly left off. Clara didn't complete her purpose, and she ends up finding that there's more to her purpose than she thought. Clara actually begins having visions at a cemetery and Christian is comforting her, though Tucker isn't there. She automatically jumps to conclusions: Tucker is going to die. Through the rest of Hallowed, we find out more about angels, her mother's history, and an angel's purpose.

Clara has definitely grown as a character. She's more sure of herself than she was in the first book. I really loved learning out more about her and her mother. It was really interesting and I loved it. Tucker was just as awesome as he was in the first book, though since they're together, he wasn't always cracking jokes. That's why I actually am currently loving Christian. Since we now know that he's an angel as well, he's even more lovable. Christian really has a soft spot for Clara and I just love it. I have a feeling that they're definitely going to get together, that's for sure. Angela is still obsessed with everything angel. She actually started an angel club that consisted of Christian, Clara, Jeffrey, and herself. Jeffrey definitely has something up. He's kind of lurking around and such, and I'm a bit worried for him. Wendy wasn't in Hallowed as much as she was in Unearthly, but every time that she mad an appearance I loved her. She seems like such a good friend!

Hallowed was an even better book than Unearthly. More is revealed and we ultimately learn more about everything angel. Plus, Samjeeza, the Black Wing, is still involved in the story! For some reason, I like Samjeeza. He doesn't seem like that bad of a guy to me. Maybe because he seems as if he's been tormented? I don't know. I'm not really sure. I really loved learning more about Clara's mom as well. Her mom is super cool! I also loved learning more about an angel's aging, most definitely. I can't wait for Boundless!

I'll give this 4.5. I enjoyed the first book a little more, but this book didn't disappoint.

i absolutely and positively adored this book! I cried, laughed, smirked and cringed, the book was that awesome for me. I grew to love Clara more, and typically I would stay away from female characters who only ever agonize about their relationship with their boyfriend and such, but I honestly felt sympathetic for Clara and did not think she was weak/pathetic. Her voice in this novel is so cool, and its evident she has a strong personality. I devoured this book in like less than a day, and went from thinking "Team Tucker for sure, nothing can ever ever change that, Team Tuck forever and always" to OMFG IDK SOMEONE HELP MY FEELS. Seriously, it's so hard to choose. Thanks a lot Cynthia for turning my world upside down. All in all, great read, and a reminder why i absolutely adore YA novels.

I read Unearthly just a few weeks ago, and really enjoyed it. I was so glad to be able to read Hallowed while Unearthly was still fresh in my mind. This series is great, I love Mrs. Hand’s writing, it’s amazing and touching, and it will draw you in and keep you wanting more and more.

Most of the same characters from Unearthly are back in Hallowed. (We do get to meet some new characters, who turn out to be pretty awesome.) I found the main character, Clara, to still be pretty likeable. Although she does have issues this time around, and she’s very undecided about what she wants, which is totally understandable. I have to say I love Clara’s mom, and I love their relationship with each other. They definitely made the book even more special for me.

In Unearthly, I was definitely team Tucker, but I was curious about Christian as well. I wanted to know more about him. I’m delighted to say that we do get to learn more about him in Hallowed, and now I’m kind of on the fence on which I prefer. I really love both guys, but for totally different reasons. But Christian’s character definitely grew on me throughout the book.

The book is very well paced, and I really enjoyed the plot. There are some parts in the book that definitely had me in tears. It was definitely an emotional read for me. (I will not spoil it for you, but once you read it, you will totally know what I am talking about.) There are also quite a few surprises thrown in that really threw me for a loop.

Overall, this series is so great. It’s definitely one of my favorite angel series so far. I have really enjoyed reading both books, and now I’m anxious for the next book to be released!

After the first book, which was quite good, this one was such an disappointment. 1,5*

THRILL RIDE.

Seriously. Did anything really even happen in this book?

I believe I liked Hallowed even better than Unearthly! Lots of revelations! It was…WOW! Absolutely can not wait to see what happens next.

Clara continues to struggle with her purpose and it’s meaning…meanwhile her feeling for Christian deepen in meaning and complexity as do her feelings for Tucker. Clara is now continually dreaming of a very weird scene…Christian is at her side. They are sad. Slowly the scene reveals itself. Clara thinks it’s a funeral. But whose? And why is black wing there? Does it have to do with not fulfilling her purpose? Only time will tell.

What a pleasant surprise Hallowed was! The author totally avoided the “sophomore slump”, making Hallowed more riveting and different than Unearthly. So much was revealed in terms of Christian, Clara’s Mom and even her Dad! Clara grows so much with all that is revealed.

So many elements of the story were beautifully depicted, and there were some heartbreaking moments as well. I did the “ugly” cry in a couple of places! Hallowed really does run the gamut of emotions. One of those books that I truly hated to see end. I suspect that the next book will be equally beautifully written and I will be devastated to see this WONDERFUL series come to an end. But the beauty of having the books is the ability to return to Jackson Hole and see everyone anytime I want and this is one I will revisit often!

Oooooh I just love Cynthia Hand! I hope she doesn't go the way of all my other series authors and rapidly decline on the third book. This one was great, just like the first one. She throws so many twists at the reader, some you can anticipate and some you can't. It's just so fun. The love triangle is still awesome, and Clara makes the funniest comment about thinking love triangles are something that only happen in books and it's so ridiculous when it happens to her. She also makes a crack about her watching out for Tucker being "dumb and admittedly creepy in an Edward Cullen kind of way." Just an example of how great Hand's writing is. Like last time, I was immediately sucked in by the characters, the setting, the story, the everything. And I really appreciated how Hand reminded me of events from the last book without being all recap-py about it; it was very smooth. Gah. Love this series!
