Okay, just finished.

I just keep going between giving it 3 star and 4 stars.

I'm pretty upset with the beginning half of the book, maybe even the last part of Unearthly as well. Why? Because of the actions and reactions she takes towards her mum. She comes off as always angry and only a boy will make her happy; and that really upsets me. This might've been cool to shrug off if she hadn't been 16 or 17 but she was.

I wanted to like our little heroine, because you understand the pressure she's under, but some of things she says or does is kind of unforgivable.

Spoiler I'm a total mommy's girl, so reading this totally affected me. In the first book, you feel she's connected with her in a special daughter mother bond, but then you see it start to fade as she becomes boy crazy. And that theme, flickers in and out throughout this book. And it truly screws with your head, because you want to like her, but realize how incredibly inconsiderate she really is. She's thinking of herself, not of the sacrifices other angel bloods have had to make too, which you know she knows. Just really freaking pisses me off.

So will I read the next installment?

I think I might, I hope this Clara grows into a more mature, better character.

Now I can't decide if I am Team Tucker or Team Christian... How long do I have to wait for the next one?

Team Christian!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hallowed is, for the most part, poignant and heartbreaking. But interspersed between all of the secrets and loss are moments of gentle humor, sweet romance, and deepening ties of family and friendship. Clara, devastated by the knowledge that she'll lose somebody close to her, also has to confront the growing tension regarding her choices between Christian and Tucker. For once, the love triangle is masterfully crafted and perfectly believable (somewhat of a rarity since they're becoming so cliche), mostly because Clara herself admits to the surrealism of the situation she finds herself trapped in--she loves Tucker, but is she destined to be with Christian? Haunting and beautiful, the breathtaking sequel to Unearthly left me in near-tears for the last 50 or so pages and aching for the concluding novel.

At the beginning I was really excited to start this books but then with Uni and my own writing I just lost interest and honestly I didn't feel like picking it up again. I'm glad I did, though.

I must admit I fell for Christian in this book and the way he stuck by Clara's side all the time. I suffered for her, Jeffrey and Tucker. I suffer for her mum. I felt her pain and the way Chyntia described her pain was incredible.

One of my favourite parts was when she laughed at herself for being in a love triangle, and I quite like the way it's taken. I'm still not sure how this will end, I just hope everyone ends up happy.

I'm really worried for Jeffrey and finally understanding him is good, though it makes my heart ache. He should've told them. From the beginning. That was his mistake.

Four stars because at the middle I got bored and I preferred to read other books instead of finishing this one. Overall it was a great book and I'm so happy that the main conflict wasn't Clara and her feelings for the two boys but something greater and bigger as her mum. Beautiful.

So the best Angel books. Maybe 3.75.

Very impressive for a YA sequel!

This and the first book were both perfect, sweet stories for a crazy cold winter week.
