Man, I'm really torn about this series. It's absolutely fun; a pretty girl in pretty clothes doing insanely adorable things. She's sex-positive, she's capable, she's just like any girl. Except being an alien. I think there's a good balance about what Starfire understands about Earth and what is lost on her (such as idioms), so it's nice that she's not an idiot, read: dumb bimbo.

But in the end, she's a whole lot of fan service. I can't see young girls who are watching Teen Titans GO (Yes, as awful as it is), and finding a role model here. What I see is the same message coming out over and over: Being pretty is what matters most. Even if Starfire is doing bad-ass things and overcoming obstacles in other ways (like using her superpowers), all the women in this series are drawn beautiful with one body type. This comic is for the male-gaze, with just enough female input to keep this series from, well, not sucking.
