Reading this book was like reading a fever dream. A pterodactyl starts attending a high school, and has an effect on the student body akin to a drug.
This is one weird ass book, and I've read some weird stuff. It wasn't terribly written nor was it great writing. Just a bad concept.
This girl's lust after a pterodactyl was just beyond bizarre to read about. It was like a bad dream that kept going. And there wasn't a good plot around it, either. It was just the protagonist's obsession with the pterodactyl boy which makes her lose her relationships with her boyfriend and friends and she eventually has to rescue him from jail and then he kidnaps her and takes her to his lair but then all of a sudden (contrary to what she has been leading with the whole book) decides to be human and leave him forever?. I mean, what!? Seriously it was trip to read. And I really liked Sheldon. Screw you, Shiels and Pyke.

There are not many books that I have put down before the end of the first chapter. The pompous writing and excessive use of "fancy" names had me rolling my eyes. As much as I wanted to like this book, I just can't take it seriously, even for a fictional piece. Interesting concept, but far from a great read.
I had originally picked this book up because I thought it would be hilarious. I had heard about it from the Read With Cindy YouTube channel, her review had me chuckling and when I came across a copy at my local library, I decided to check it out and oh boy. It was a rough read. It was terrible. It reminded me of Twilight a bit, with the swooning over the strange boy and how the main character felt like her life is going to end if she doesn't have him. The writing style had me confused the entire time and I could not sink into the story at all, which it made it difficult to finish. I did come close to DNFing (did-not-finish) the book. I honestly should have, so I could have read something I would have actually liked. So you have been warned, read at your own risk!
A very bizarre fantasy romance. Shiels rules Vista View High School, she is in charge of organizing everything at the school. One day a new student transfers into the school, he's hot and he's a teenage pterodactyl - that's right a human/pterodactyl hybrid. Where does he come from? No one knows. But once he arrives at the school Shiels finds her life turned upside down. This book is very strange, yet a fun read.

Instead of reading this, I could have read something uplifting or inspiring. But everyone needs to roll in the gutter sometimes. Didn't make sense, had spelling and editing errors, at times I found it quite difficult to determine what was real action and what was dream action. However, a sexy pterodactyl that made her nose turn purple! Five stars.
this was real dumb but if it got a movie adaptation I would honestly watch it lol
Okay. So. This is one of those books everyone talks about how bad it is. They tell you not to read it, but you do to see how bad it is. This was also (jokingly) a group read last month in Words & Whimsy Reading Challenge. Perfect time to read it and see what the big deal was.
The deal was – it was bad. Shelis is a highschooler. She’s very into student council, so when a pterodactyl joins the school, she decides she is going to make sure he fits in. All the while, she falls in love with him, is jealous he likes her AND another high school girl, AND Shelis’ MOM FALLS FOR HIM. WHAT? They also all have purple noses after they wrangle dance with him. Aka sex. They have sex with a pterodactyl. And get purple noses. I just… what?
That was my thought throughout the whole book. Just what? I was confused. So much happened, but it also seemed like nothing happened? It was weird. And bad. Please don’t read it.
