A lovely prequel to what promises to be very enjoyable story. I can't wait to read the next book!

Cliffhanger. This is a really short story (less than 30 min to read), but enjoyable. Ervyn is obsessed with and pursues his fellow Elvin warrior, Lochan. Kasia Bacon’s writing style packs a delightful punch and it is so easy to fall into the world she’s created. The book ends with a steamy encounter and Ervyn deciding to alter his future plans for Lochan.

I’m diving right in to The Highlander.

5 Stars!

Two words.

Fucking! Fabulous!! (Scuse my language)

This bridges everything I love and want from high fantasy and when mixed with MM, you’ve got one awesome setup for an uh-mazing series!!

Of course, my only complaint is that this was way too short! I want to gobble up ALL the books but I don’t want to be without! Regardless, I look forward to future indulgences but I must pace myself!

No era lo que esperaba, esperaba más fantasía de hecho, pero bueno.

Se siente como un prólogo para lo que viene, no sentía que tuviéramos trama realmente.

This is a tiny novelette that introduces the characters of The Order series.

Lochan, aka The Mutt, is a cold elven mutt who's as deadly as he is infuriating.

Ervyn is a mountain elf who is utterly bewitched by Lochan, who doesn't give him the time of day.

until one day...everything changes and Lochan shows Ervyn the a teasing peak of what he is really about.

Onto book 2!!

This is a great start to the series of short stories by Ms. Kasia Bacon. I thought the relationship between Ervyn and Lochan is explosive from the beginning and I like how their relationship developed in a way the Ervyn changed what he's worked so hard for because of his connection to Lochan. A wonderful and heartwarming story and a definite must read!!

Outstanding writing, vivid descriptions without subtracting agility to the captivating plot.

Yes, is short, hardly more than a presentation of the series, but is pure delight.

I got an ARC of this book.

The amount of world building that was packed into this short story was mind blowing. I felt like I understood the way the world worked and that it mattered. Everything made sense, even when it wasn’t explained in text. I would read and not even notice the new words I was learning and how it just all fit seamlessly. I am impressed. The world building is a solid five stars without a second thought.

The biggest complaint I have is that it really wasn’t long enough for the ending to make sense to me. I needed more building to get to that point. The pairing was based on looks, not anything else because the story was so short. It felt like a tease. I needed more. Thankfully there is more in this series and I already have it!

I would recommend this, it really hooked me into this series. I look forward to reading the next book.

This was pretty shot at 40 pages, but it manages to pack in some great world-building and characters.

The Mutt is set in a fatasy world with elves and humans, and half-breeds.

Ervyn Morryés is a dark elf, an archer, and totally enamoured with Lochan Féyes.

Lochan Féyes is a half-breed elf, and assasin trained with more secrets than we are privy to.

Ervyn and Lochan has some great angst and I need to continue their story asap.
