Really packs a punch!

Bloody and gory! Just what I like. Going off with a bang that makes me even more excited to start The Cotton Candy Massacre. A super fun quick read.

"Don't 'cha know?" Bonko screams, "ain't no such thing as fair at the carnival?"

A short prequel to The Cotton Candy Massacre. I'm so glad that I read this one too because it gives us a glimpse, even a small one, into Bonko.

The scene we get in this is one where Bonko meets Reese, the monkey boy. I will admit I was curious about their relationship since he was referred to as like a child to Bonko. I just love it when a villain shows a tiny bit of their humanity.

For being so short it still gave us plenty of gore and fun! My only complaint is I wanted more.

Eh. There's not much to say about this tbh. It's short and just a prequel, so I'm still going to check out the next book, but honestly, it felt like a waste of time to read.

A great prequel introducing one of the characters from The Cotton Candy Massacre (TCCM), along with the main man Bonko, obviously. Seeing where they started to where they end up, makes so much more sense for how the character behaves. That cover with Bonko is just terrifying.

I do think this one is better read after TCCM, as I feel it has more of an impact that way. On it's own it's just a good story, but post TCCM it's more of a realisation half-way through of "I know who that character is" and "wow, what is going to happen next to get them from here to TCCM".

I did want it to be slightly longer (but isn't that always the way with good shorts) and there was one bit I wasn't sure if I understood the extent of the horror inside.

The moral is don't p*** Bonko off kids!

4.5 stars rounded up to 5!

While I read this super fun addition after finishing The Cotton Candy Massacre, I still really enjoyed it and love getting even more of a backstory into one of our main characters. Coming in at a short and gory 31 pages as an ebook, this was a super quick and entertaining read that made me want atleast 2 more books to be added into this series. I absolutely hate clowns but absolutely loved these books and really need more of them. Please Christopher?! Robertson is definitely climbing his way up my favorite horror authors list and I can't wait to read more of his work.

Bloody carnival fun!

Decided to give this a go before deciding whether to read Cotton Candy Massacre, I'm so glad I did. If the main course is anything like this appetizer then I'm in for clown fuelled gory fun. Great quick read which left me wanting more.
