Final book in the trilogy has the cheerleaders going to a cheerleader championship. Of course, things go wrong and one of them winds up in the hospital. I don't know what the synopsis is going on about with that mention of a note pinned to a dead cheerleader. That never happens here! In any case, the cheerleaders must band together to find out the true identity of the sociopath, who may have been behind everything, right from the start.

Fast-paced and enjoyable, but not as good as the second book. The point of view comes from both Sydney Hargreaves and Winter Addams, and to be honest, they were practically interchangeable. I sometimes got lost as to who was who, a problem I didn't have in the previous two books. Dakota is still a dramatic, immature brat. The motive behind everything is disappointing.
SpoilerThey did it over a boy. But I guess that's in keeping with the book's 90s vibe.
One funny thing I did notice is that R.L. Stine's original "Cheerleaders" trilogy featured the characters going to a cheerleading competition.

I was able to read all three books in one day. Not much else to do in self-isolation! This trilogy is a good bet if you've exhausted your stash of actual 90s YA horror and looking for a modern day alternative. Nothing deep, but some cheap, easy thrills across all three books. The second book is definitely the best.

This book was the most chilling yet in the Horror High series. Carissa's simple, to the point, and concise writing makes her books fly by as I'm reading them. I loved delving into the lives of these girls and guessing all along the way as to what crazy thing might just happen next in this squad of girls who love to hate each other.

Winter and Sydney narrate this book with ease, switching from them was hard to start with until I made sure to pay attention to chapter headers... but by the end of the book, I was reading it easily and kept up very well with whose head I was actually in when! I had a few predictions along the way, and turns out, I was actually right this time! Except about Ronnie... could have sworn he was more of a bad boy, and not just a pawn.

If you love a good thriller, lots of drama and mystery, this book is for you!

Killer moves is book 3 in Carissa Ann Lynchs Horror High series.

The sociopath is still on the loose and steps up the torment and terror once again.

So much is happening in this series and this instalment is no different. These poor characters are again put through the ringer by a very clever mastermind and puppet master that keeps their identity hidden right til the very end. My mind changed a few times throughout the series as to who the killer was which is a testament to how good the plot twists are at keeping you guessing.

Carissa doesn't hold back when it comes to her characters wellbeing either and not everyone gets through unscathed. It's a very well put together and well written YA horror series and would recommend it to almost everyone.

I voluntarily reviewed this advanced reader copy and I have not been compensated in any way.
