Not sure how I felt about this one. For one thing, if you know someone named Ben but you think you could probably read this anyway, don’t bother. His name is said every other sentence, and twice that much during spicy scenes. Most romance books don’t say names during spicy scenes to avoid that awkwardness, but this one leans into it.
The rest... The mob stuff was a little unrealistic in that Lola buries her head in the sand a bit. Her little sister is threatened more than once, and Lola never warns her? And then it all disappears and the problem is gone like magic.
I do want to read more books in the series because I loved other works by this author and the set up for this story has me hooked.
CW/TW: use of the word “daddy” during spicy scenes.
