It really was like reading 2 different books...one about the house and the children and the second about the war. I liked the first book better than the second. I missed the presence of the house in the second half.

DNF - rare for me! Just not my cup of tea, not into period drama coming of age. I really wanted to love it as a Dorset local but I found it rather dull. Sorry!
