This is one of those books that makes you want to compulsively read it. It's not focused on likable characters, or even detailed character development, but instead suspense and tension, propelled by short chapters told across a few varying points of view. Amanda and Wendy meet at a grief support group and are fueled by their sadness and anger, making a pact for revenge. Meanwhile, Ruth is attacked in her home by a blue-eyed stranger, leaving her ever-fearful. Detective Farrow, a world weary detective with a bad back, must investigate.

The story is different, but a page-turner, and certainly dark. It keeps you guessing and puzzling toward the end, filled with twists and surprises. I had a lot of fun reading this one.

3.5 stars. Solid plot from the start makes it a page turner, and I liked the varying character perspectives. But they ruined the whole book with the ending, and I figured out the main twist.
