I checked the date on this book after we read it because I was suspicious. Yep, 1975. A little girl makes a wish for a day on a boat with someone for company and it comes true, but she spends the whole day cleaning, cooking, and taking care of her little brother. And that's what she wanted. For her wish.

Uhhhhh, no.

The illustrations are pretty, though, so I'm giving it two stars.

The illustrations are incredible, the story is fun and whimsical.

A quiet story of a girl who wishes to sail on a boat for a day.

A perfect childhood fantasy in book form.

A sweet story of a big sister taking care of her little brother. One of my favorite children's stories.

This was pretty much my favourite book in the world as a child. It's hard to find now:(

An eternal favorite.

My second grader won't read this, I think he's too old. I read it and think it'd be sweet for a preschooler.

sweet

Gentle and imaginative.
