Meg Jones is the QUEEN of tennis romance, and that is a hill I will die on. I knew when I read Clean Point a few months ago, I needed to get my hands on Game Point as soon as possible. So when I saw it was Read Now on Netgalley, I RAN and then started it only a few days later. As a former tennis player, I am loving the love the sport is getting on account of Jones' work. Not to mention, she discusses the sport with so much care. While I was never a professional athlete, I did compete at high levels and loved the respect and care Jones took with Dylan's arc and the struggles she has on the mental side of the game. I love the positive representation for time off, breaks, self-care, and therapy. I love how multiple avenues are tried and even how there are mentions of difficulties and lack of success with therapy.
The banter was fun and flirty, and the love was palpable between Dylan and Oliver.
My only grievance, is I wish we would've seen Oliver open up to Dylan about his panic attacks and anxiety to see some of the same emotional vulnerability from him that we saw from Dylan as she grew into herself and her mental strategies.

I liked the first 20% but then was just extremely bored for the rest. I struggled to keep the povs apart they didn't have much personality. The songs attached to each chapter were just annoying to me and cheesy. The brat sex scenes just weren't for me. I was tempted to DNF but struggled thorough until the end.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Dylan loses a tennis match and meets Oliver. They make a bet in which win or lose Dylan gets a trophy. Will she win or will she gain so much more? The plot was a good cozy romance with a tennis vibe. It kept me wanting to know what would happen to Dylan and Oliver and if Oliver would finally get her trophy. I immediately liked Dylan and Oliver early into the book. Most of the characters were interesting enough to make me have a like or hate opinion on them. There were some spicy scenes but it's definitely not that bad. Also the book had a dicktionary (her word not mine) where the explicit content can be found.. This book was a great Hallmark movie type of book. I would read more books by this author.

I really enjoyed getting Dylan’s story in this one. I always love a good black cat FMC. I also loved the progression from acquaintances to friends to lovers. 🥰
I did like the first book in the series better, but this is still a great addition to the series. So happy there were so many Nico & Scottie cameos in this one though!

I’ve been a Meg fan since her first book and this one absolutely reminded me why! Friends to lovers is my favorite trope and I’m very picky about it when I’m reading and I loved this one. The way they quietly rooted for each other from the very beginning, to still keeping that foundation of friendship even after they fell in love. The way they both went on their own separate journeys to find themselves in the tennis world as well as their journey as coach and player.
Additionally, as someone who is not super familiar with tennis, I had no problem following the matches that took place throughout the book!
I received an ARC, all thoughts are my own.

As someone who knows very little about tennis, I appreciate that I can still understand what is going on during the tennis matches and fully enjoy them! The relationship shifts between the two main characters is so cool to see and makes their love story that much more believable with the slow progression. I think both of the MC’s are so lovable as individuals but I do feel like there were some parts of each character that were not full fleshed out. Will continue to read this series and I look forward to seeing who gets their love story next!

I really loved book one so was so excited for this one. I ate this up up! The meet cute was so cute and the friendship they formed from it was amazing. Watching them build that friendship to a point of love gah 🤌 I liked the aspect of him becoming her coach. They had such a strong relationship that it worked. I loveeee when a book has one character indulging in solo time and the other over hears them 🥵 top tier stuff there. I love that Dylan and Scottie also became such great friends after what took place in book one.
I wouldn't say you absolutely have to read the first one, but it definitely helps.

I read the first book in this series back in December, and I'm glad I did. This is not a book that can be read as a standalone. While timelinewise it doesn't pick up right from where the first one left off, it does continue storylines of side characters and their character arcs from that story, as well as have characters that were introduced in the first book.
I still don't know a whole lot about tennis despite telling myself that I would learn about tennis if I was going to read books about the sport.
This book was a little more technical than the first book was, using terms that while I didn't actually know what they were I was able to infer close to what they meant by using context clues. I wish I knew a little bit more about just the basics of tennis, but that is a me problem, not an issue for this book as it was a lovely story without it.
I enjoyed the fact that there was no third act breakup. A lot of Dylans storyline was about personal growth, and while normally humans don't clearly communicate. When the clinch point for what could have been the third act breakup would have fit in, they were at a point where they should have been able to communicate well, and they did as a couple. But plenty of miscommunication.
I think I adore Dylan more than I adore Scottie.
Thank You NetGalley adn HarperCollins for the eArc to read and review.
