Nice change from the previous volumes as it diverges from its usual plotline, wherein we see Alex and the twins deal with cases that involve mysterious forces. I would highly recommend those who enjoy crime and fantasy stories.

Also, the artwork of the series is superb! A deserving and great champion for Filipino art worldwide.

OH MY GOD, THAT WAS A WILD RIDE! Please I need the next volumes!!!

If I am to compare the 3 volumes, this one is by far THE BEST. I dived into these graphic novels not knowing much about them and while volumes 1 and 2 kept me engaged with the story and the seeming episodic run of each case, it was this third volume that had made me a fan. And I'm going to say it again - OH MY GOSH, this was a wild ride!

Putting the origin story in book 3 is genius. I did not see it coming and now that I'm done with the book, I'm left craving for more.

When will the next volumes be printed? Or are they available somewhere? Please someone tell me!

This volume just solidified my love for backstories. As someone with very limited knowledge of comic books (Kikomachine Komix and, of course, Sandman), this more than satisfies my hunger for such tales. Alexandra Trese's character felt like a localized Sherlock-gone-folkloric/mythic with a whole universe inspired by Gaiman, which was probably why it was so easy to like this whole new universe. I've never been more satisfied of an impulse buy.

This book was given to me in exchange for an honest review

This is one of those books where you see the animated series first before realising that it has a comic series.

Trese Vol 3; Mass Murders follows a story based on Filipino mythology.

The comic is told in several parts, with maps that guide through mysterious occuring murders in Manila.

The story also focuses on Alexandra "Alex" Trese, who discovers the truth about her heritage and responsibility as the one meant to preserve the balance between the underworld and the land of the living.

She gives it everything she's got, putting all her trainings from her father and grandfather into action to protect both realms.

But the peace between the clans- Aswang, Tikbalang, The air spirits, Duwende, and the tribe if Lighting and humans is threatened by the possession of the former mayor of Manila.

Alexandra Trese alongside the Kambal twins, plots to save the lives of each clan and prevent the second rise of the Talagbusoa.

There's enough humour, action and plot twists to keep you glued till the last panel of the Comics.

Thank you Netgalley for the copy.
