I first read this book when I was much younger, maybe 13 or 14. The problems that the main character go through seemed so alien to my own that I was instantly gripped by the story. That, and the main character has many many many books recommended to him by his English teacher. Chbosky definitely did me a service in including all those titles. Many of them I only read because they were mentioned in this book.

All-in-all, I would recommend this book to just about anyone. Yes, it can be depressing at times, and the ending comes as a shock, but the story and writing style makes it all worth it.

One of my favourite books when I was growing up.

I forgot how breathtaking this novel is and how much I cried reading this book the first time. Such a treasure. Also there is a character named Michael Scott.

I wanted to reread this as it was one of my favorite books growing up. It absolutely still holds up.
