Ich mochte Charlie, Sam und Patrick sowie die Geschichte sehr, mir gefiel der Aufbau in Briefen allerdings nicht wirklich. Ich hätte mir gewünscht, dass man zumindest am Ende einmal erfährt, wer die mysteriöse Person ist, der Charlie all die Briefe schickt (und ob es der Junge ist, der den Spind neben Charlie hat, weil er sagte, er wisse, wer er ist). Den Mittelteil des Buches fand ich stellenweise etwas schwach, doch das Ende gefiel mir sehr. Es löste sich einfach alles richtig schön auf und es war ein perfektes Happy End. Wenn auch nicht alles komplett gut war, machten die Charaktere das Beste daraus. Die Enthüllung über Charlie fand ich ebenfalls sehr berührend.

I think I've never cried with a book before. It wasn't sadness but just absolute wholesomeness.
As a person who could be considered a "wallflower", I just couldn't help but love Charlie.
This book is not perfect though, I think at times the author takes advantage of the fact that the book is supposed to be written by a 15 year old boy and the quality of writing is sometimes a bit variable.

This book was beautiful, I watched the movie before I read the book and I would still recommend it. It was so emotional and I can confirm I cried watching the movie and reading the book. READ IT!

After Sunburn, another book that transported me back to feeling like I'm 16 again. However, this one reminded me of parts of my adolescence that I 0/10 recommend. Still one of my favourite books though.
