I read this so long ago, but I remember feeling incredibly seen.

I would actually give this a 4.5 mostly because there were some areas that didn’t feel exactly necessary. It was overall a fantastic coming-of-age story. I absolutely loved Charlie’s progression to realizing what was causing him to go through such trauma that he couldn’t identify. I hurt to find what the cause of that trauma was. The friendships Charlie formed were incredible to see because they were pure and so realistic as to how friendships are shaped in high school. There was also so much progress with his whole family and it was wonderful to read. I felt as if Charlie were writing to me the whole time, which was most likely the point. I loved the journalistic style of this book.
