A HUGE thank you to #netgalley for allowing me the chance to read this suspenseful dramatic, thriller!! I never thought I'd describe a book like that but, that's exactly how it happened. I also have to mention I'm participating in the #24in48 so this is my first log!
A trio of old girl friends decide to take a trip to Mexico to reconnect their friendship and something goes tragically wrong. The book is written from the different girls perspectives at different times during the trip. I like it that way, you see what they're each thinking and it clears up questions as well. What I like is that it points the finger at each of them, they each have a reason for what happens but, what really happened? You literally find out in the last page or two of the book. My mind was swirling trying to see what exact happened.
I definitely recommend this book, it did go a little slow for me, some things could have been deleted from the story and it would have made it more fast paced. Overall, a great read!! Thanks #lakeunionpublishing for the ARC!!

I loved the premise of this story - the three women out for a vacation and one of them goes missing! It's intriguing - one of them goes missing! Who hasn't thought out this horrifying scenario when they go out with friends and one of them goes off with someone they just met??
But I just didn't enjoy this one. The girls were awful - I didn't really like any of them. Their friendship and dramas were frustrating and many times I wanted to just be done with the book and their lives. I wanted to enjoy it and the mystery but found myself just frustrating and annoyed. I did enjoy the idea and conclusion but not most of the in between.

I am so happy to have received this advance reader copy. I simply could not put this book down. Sooooo good!
A huge thank you to Amazon Publishing and Lake Union for my advanced copy!
Ok, now wow. That one hit a little too close to home. I truly loved how real this was, and while a little repetitive at times, I still could not put this book down!
GNO follows the story of three estranged friends on a trip in Tulum. After a series of arguments and difficult decisions, one of them goes missing and the search is on. The story is told in the POVs of each friend and alternates between the beginning of the trip, to after the disappearance.
While reading this, I was gutted. Liz and Lisa touch on the subject of best friends and hardships and it honestly hit me so hard. In high school, I've had my trio and still do, and a lot of what was written mirrored what we have been through (arguments, decisions, bias, stubbornness to see our own faults) and it made this story that much more real. I think that's where the best suspense/thrillers come from: a real life experience that we can all relate to well.
I also loved the build up that this story had. While at times I found it a teensy bit repetitive because of the one decision between two of the friends, I still felt the tension and terror of what truly happened to Ashley. And when we finally get there? Oh, man. My heart broke and made me want to reread this book and look at it in an entirely different way!
If you're looking for a quick-paced character-driven page-turner with a head full of secrets and a dash of heartbreak, get on this!
This was my first thriller from these ladies and I promise I will be back for more!
