Thank you to Lake Union Publishing for the free review copy of this novel. All opinions are my own.

This will be a perfect beach read for this summer. What's more fun than a reconciliation trip to Mexico that goes horribly wrong for a summer read? I flew through this book in a few hours. I had to know what happened to Ashely.

I love the way Liz and Lisa build the plot slowly through gaps in memory. They know how to build anticipation that keeps the reader wanting to read just one more chapter. I also enjoyed the realness in this story due to the fractions in the friendship. They didn't try to make everything perfect, which helped keep me wanting to read more.

I loved the Good Widow so I was very excited to see this book on Kindle Unlimited. I enjoyed the story of the three friends, Natalie, Ashley, and Lauren as they attempt to repair their damaged friendships. We are definitely hardest on those we’re closest to. I was a little surprised at the ending, but felt like Natalie wasn’t telling the whole story when she got her memory back. I was hoping for a little more with the ending, but still really enjoyed it and read it in a day.

3.5

The main characters weren't all that likeable, especially Ashley. She seemed to be a terrible friend and not even 100 pages in, I was hoping she was dead.

Thank you to Netgalley and the Lake Union Publishing for an advanced reader's copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Girls' Night Out is about three estranged friends: Ashley, Natalie, and Lauren. A year has passed and they are all hopeful that a girls getaway may help them to heal old wounds. The girls head off to Tulum, Mexico and everything seems to be going accordingly...until one night Natalie wakes up soaking wet on the beach. Hungover and with no recollection of what happens she goes off to find Ashley and Lauren to help her put the pieces back together. She is able to find Lauren but Ashley is no where to be seen.

If you are looking for a quick, easy mystery read then this is it! The relationship between the three friends was relatable and as the reader you see their friendship unravel as the story unfolds. Secrets and truths are revealed.

I felt connected to each character - maybe not at first but as the story progressed and their secrets came to the surface I felt more and more connected to each of them. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more by these wonderfully talented ladies!

Thank you to Lake Union Publishing for sending me a copy of this. I really enjoyed everything about this book! I read this in one day because I was so anxious to find out what happened. I felt I was really able to connect with and understand Ashley, Natalie, and Lauren. Even when they were frustrating me, I still loved them and couldn't decide whose side I was on. Overall, I found this to be a very engaging read and would highly recommend this to mystery and suspense lovers.

Another great suspense written by the dynamic duo! Three best friends take a trip to try to reconnect, but nothing goes as planned. A story that is told going back and forth during and after a friend disappearing, without confusion. This is a great page turning Summer read!

Another fun read from Lisa and Liz. They are taking readers to Tulum Mexico this time for an exciting girls weekend. The three friends get together to make up and rejuvenate themselves and their friendship. The suspense is at a high volume when one friend goes missing. One friend can’t remember anything and they start to really wonder what has happened to their friend.

I love reading books by Liz Fenton and Lisa Steinke. They're friends and writing partners (and I was luckily enough to get to meet them at a recent event in Chicago). Their unique dynamic allows them to craft incredibly authentic and nuanced female friendships, in a way that rings true and makes me think of the relationships in my own life. Girls Night Out was tense. Three longtime friends take a trip to Mexico for some much needed away time to try and get reconnected with one another. They've had a bit of a falling out- two are business partners who are disagreeing with the direction their business should take and one is a very recent widow who blames part of her husband's death on her friend. The three quickly discover that they're not quite ready to reconcile yet... And one of them winds up missing. I loved reading about Tulum Mexico and definitely want to take a trip there- but I think I'll stick with girls I'm not fighting with :) If you like to read realistic books set in tropical locations with a lot of suspense and drama, I can see this working for you.

This book just didn’t do it for me. It took me forever to get through it. It wasn’t super exciting or fast paced. I almost DNF it. I wasn’t a fan of the way the story line jumped back and forth from days before to days after “the incident” and back and forth the whole time. I didn’t like how everything was a topic that was skirted around. Instead of simply saying something it would just hint at it. For several pages worth. It wasn’t needed. Especially when in the grand scheme of it all, that wasn’t a big part of it. That happened a few times.
Just overall, was not a winner for me.
