I’ll admit that it took me almost 2 months to read this book. I started it before release day hoping to finish it quickly but I grew bored with it. I kept having to push myself to read it, kept putting it away to read other books. In that almost 2 months, I only read 44%. But a friend encouraged me to finish it. She told me that it picked up and was really good. So tonight, within about 3 hours, I read the remaining 56% and finished the book. At about 80% I was starting to feel a little let down, things were not going how I had suspected them. But man, those last couple plot twists made up for it! This book made me cry, my heart was breaking for the characters. It was such a raw showing of how skewed our lives and relationships can become. When I read the last paragraph, my heart broke a little more and my jaw dropped. I was very skeptical about this book but now I am glad I finished it. I would classify this book as more of a slow burning thriller as opposed to a regular thriller or suspense. I must say though, I greatly enjoyed it and will be on the lookout for other books from these authors.
Rating: 5 Stars!! ( Wish i could rate it 10 stars!!)

I was really looking forward to reading this novel because the author’s first collaboration The Good Widow was such an easy enjoyable read. This one was good but it was a little hard to get into, I think some of this is that I found the ladies we follow in this story a little annoying at first. The early story also depends on alluding to past events and secrets to draw us in, that isn’t my favorite way to start a story. I also have a hard time believing some of the resentments grudges and fights these ladies had.
Once some of the events and secrets are reviled I feel like the mystery part of the story starts to get better and the characters themselves seem to deepen and become more sympathetic. I enjoyed how the story got your thinking about relationships and why you have them and what you want from them. These three seemed a toxic blend for sure but history has a way of making us hold on. As the story progressed it became a little easier to understand some of the fights but still a little hard to understand why they were not more open with one another.
The mystery itself was good and I like how it unfolded and eventually resolved itself.
Thanks to NetGalley and Lake Union Publishing for providing me the ARC of Girls Night Out.

This is a Girls' Night Out gone wrong, really wrong.
Three friends, Ashley, Natalie, and Lauren, go to Tulum, Mexico for a getaway.
In the course of their trip they attempt to mend broken bridges in their friendships, but ultimately the night before they leave Ashley disappears. And that is where the book begins. We spend the rest of the book figuring out what caused their friendships to go off track, the secrets their hiding, and why ultimately Ashley disappeared.
I struggled to get into this book initially. Between multiple view points and a changing timeline, it took me a bit to get a hang of who each of the characters were and what was happening in the story. It was probably half way when things really started to come together for me and then I sped through to the end. If you enjoy suspense and a little drama, I recommend this book to you. I do think it is ultimately worth the initial effort.
I was provided a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Hmm. Wanted to like this more. The premise is interesting but the characters were so vapidly juvenile. I didn’t get how Ashley and Natalie could have built an empire when they were so busy being frenemies. I also didn’t feel like I understood anything about how Marco fit in the picture.
I’ve been on a “liars” binge lately it seems with books. The lies in this one were whoppers. This could have been a great story but the execution was flawed.

A perfect psychological thriller for anyone who loves an untrustworthy narrator, starring a tense best friend relationship. I simply devoured this book from start to finish, and will be on the lookout for more books by these authors in the future.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for giving me a much appreciated digital copy of this book, in exchange for an honest review.

3.5/5 stars for this adult mystery read
The tagline says it's "a heart-stopper of a thriller," but I didn't find it very thrilling. Narration wasn't my favorite. Reading Riley Sager this month could have skewed my rating lol

I throughly enjoyed reading this fast paced thriller of margaritas🍹, beaches 🏖️, and most importantly; drama upon drama! I don't have a group of super close girlfriends, but I have two sisters and I can't imagine the gossip than would ensue if we took a Mexico vacation together. It would problem be just as frenzied and possibly even end the same way! 🙈🙊🙉👯 I actually felt like I knew where the story was going until it took a turn and surprised me! I didn't think Liv and Lisa would go THERE, but they did and I loved every tumultuous second of it! If you like psychological thrillers and chick lit with a kick (and better writing😉) you should read this! Like The Favorite Sister, but with less bitching and imo better! Also, I really want a BloBrush now.💁 Girls' Night Out would also have a great TV series or movie. ⭐⭐⭐⭐
I immediately wanted to read Girls' Night Out once I saw the cover and then scampered over to Amazon and Goodreads to read the synopsis. A trip to Mexico that ends in a missing person? YES, PLEASE!
At first I got a little confused with the narration - it is told in multiple POVs at multiple points of time (past and present). I thought there were 4 girls on this trip for about 20% of the book and then it hit me like a ton of bricks that there were, in fact, only three! I sighed with relief because I can handle three varying POVs much easier than four!
I *did* get slightly annoyed at one of the characters for her actions and found them somewhat unbelievable largely due to the way she had said she's always been in the past combined with her age and then these super dumb, ridiculous, irrational decisions she was making as if her back wasn't aching, she wasn't exhausted since dinner, etc like I know she really should have been! LOL
The ending though... makes me take a double look at the entire book. Did I miss signs? Was I too wrapped up in all the little issues that the characters were going through to notice what was right in front of my face? Or was it all supposed to be just a complete and total shock to the reader? I like that's how it ends, though. Because I find myself still thinking of it from time to time. This is a book I will be recommending to my friends and family who enjoy this type!
Thanks so much to the publisher/authors for an advance copy in exchange for a review. I am going to finalize with a 4 out of 5 rating. I enjoyed the story, I felt like I was on vacation, and I felt like I was right in the middle of a murder/mystery investigation party!

Girls' Night Out is a fun summer drama / suspense novel! It's about 3 best friends trying to repair their relationship during a trip to Mexico, and one of them goes missing.
This is an addicting read - I liked hearing the characters backgrounds, and that the story was not told in chronological order. It made things more mysterious.
This one is on the lighter side - I think it's the perfect beach read, and it's pretty easy to move through it. I think it could have been a little bit shorter - it did start to drag at sometimes, but never to the point where I would want to stop the book. I was a little bit let down by the ending, and I think I may have liked the book a little more if it would have been darker. That's just me, though.
This was my first book by Liz & Lisa, and I'll definitely be back for more! Girls' Night Out was an enjoyable mystery that kept my attention, and I can't wait to see what they come up with next!
