David, the only member of Blue is the Color with a child is a well-known player. After receiving a super scary phone call from Sylvia, the mother of his child, David immediately flies home to be with his family. His fifteen-year-old daughter, Emma, broke her femur in a car accident. David offers Emma and Sylvia a place to stay until she is fully healed.
Sylvia wishes that David was a better parent. She knows that he loves his daughter, but he has missed so much in her life. When the three of them live together, her feelings toward David change completely.
I loved this second-chance romance! I thought that Sylvia was such a strong character. I also loved the dynamic between the three of them.

I was really intrigued by David after reading Times Like These as I didn't know how he could be in a successful band and have a young daughter so was stoked he got the next book!
After an accident David moves his daughter Emma and her Mum Sylvia into his place so Emma has all the support she needs while she recovers. This is the turning point in both David and Sylvia's life as they have the opportunity to really get to know each other and heaven forbid communicate instead of keeping their distance from each and having their own ideas of what each other is like. There is plenty of awkward moments, tender moments, times you want to smack them on the back of the head and have your fingers crossed they can finally come together not for Emma but for each other.

I really really liked the beginning. I needed more from the rest.
Yet again another fun read from Julia Wolf! David and Sylvia are a couple that you want together from the start. He is a rockstar that struggles to settle down. Sylvia offers him something he wants but does not yet know how to accept. Together David and Sylvia have a “treasure” that is worth fighting for! I had an idea where the book might lead but I couldn’t put it down as I wanted to find out their fate and if their story ended the way I hoped it would.
This was a good second chance story. I can't get over how little these parents knew about each other sharing a child for 15 years. They were total strangers all these years.
I'm clearly in the minority here but I was not impressed with David. Absent dad who isn't around for his kid, misses every event, first day of school, games, so he can be out partying. He was such a selfish person that it was really hard for him to grow on me. I will say by the end I was happy with his redemption, and believe he loves his family and will stick around, but I'll never be his biggest fan. He didn't really have any excuse to be a deadbeat dad for 15 years.
This author is CRUSHING it! Seriously, she's one to watch I've enjoyed every one of her books and with each one it seems she gets just that much better.
David and Sylvia's story was just perfect for them. They overcame all kinds of hurdles to get to each other (hurdles they put in their own path much of the time) and really proved that sometimes maybe people are meant for each other in their own time. We change, we grow, as we live through each life experience, sometimes we need those changes to get out of our own way. I think this book beautifully illustrates that growth.
I loved that Sylvia had an edge to her. I loved that David had always had the wrong opinion of her. The musical angle was also a big draw for me. Emma was a good addition as well. Just overall such a unique and touching book. I devoured each and every word and I can't wait until June when we get Jasper's story and hopefully learn more about elusive Ian!
