Need to borrow again. Had too many audiobooks out to finish them all on time.

I just felt like the stakes were so low during this book with the focus on the games (aside from what was going on in White London). I think I needed a better reason for the characters to want to participate and to focus so much on it, so I didn't feel as hooked as the prior book. In addition to that, there is this general setting in a non-mechanized world, and then modern phrases like "suck it up, brother" felt out of place.

However, I still like the characters and the world that has been created, so I'll stick with the series and see how the next one turned out.

This book. This book is something else. I quite literally do not have words to explain how much I LOVED this book and the emotions I am feeling after finishing it. I cannot wait to read the next one
