Wow. Perhaps it’s because I have a daughter the same age as Zach’s daughter in the book; but I’ve never had a fictional story (in book form) make me choke up in tears. God damn, the emotions and the sadness embedded in the father/daughter storyline were so intense. And that’s not the only plot line that had me all in. I was fully engaged. I’m truly in awe of Everett’s ability to manipulate emotions and tell a great story with believable characters. Damn this book was good. This guy is phenomenal. Exactly what literary fiction should be.

Another banger from the best working writer our godforsaken country has. Daring, heartbreaking, wholly original. Just excellent stuff
