Great children's book about the power of imagination.
I liked this episode okay, but feel it lacked something. The quirky side characters are the gems that kept me reading. I usually really enjoy epistolary. I still think LMM has beautiful prose that is a joy to read.

Still as charming as all of LMM's work, but I think the first 3 Anne books are just, well...the best.
I wasn't sure about reading this book after finding out that it was added to the series much later but I'm glad I gave it a chance.
(I'm also a sucker for following the chronological order of stories.)
By the end of the book I was sad to leave Summerside behind. I enjoyed Anne's stay there, as well as seeing how openly in love she is with Gilbert now.
The way she constantly talks about her house of dreams after learning something beautiful or hunting about the characters in Summerside left me eager to read the fifth book right away.

This is a charming chronicle of Anne's three years of principalship before she marries. Of all the faerie-like children she writes, Elizabeth is easily the most charming and winsome. And of course, Rebecca Dew is a most enjoyable secondary character.
