Honestly, it’s fun to read, but it doesn’t hold a candle to the earlier books. It’s just so repetitive. Anne befriends one grumpy person and changes their life, and befriends another small child and helps to right their life too. I mean, Elizabeth and Paul have generally the same stories. It also doesn’t really do anything to advance the overarching narrative of the series, since Anne is just waiting for Gilbert to finish medical school. That said, it’s still an enjoyable read.

Very nice change of the format of the book series. Loved how Anne was able to help others change themselves to achieve their own happiness.

So many cranky, disagreeable people. I know they are supposed to be humorous, but I really prefer Anne's lighthearted escapades more. I also was disappointed that Gilbert isn't in this one - they finally got together!!

Reread July 2016.

ILL COME BACK I PROMISE

May I never be a grumpy old lady for fear of having my heart melted by Anne Shirley.

(This entry was fine, not stellar, not awful; a nice read. It seems to drop a lot of plot elements from the previous books, especially with the twins. The stereotypes are a bit extreme and definitely the toxic relationships from the negative characters were hard to read through. Anne herself is very personable and I like her for the most part, but there wasn't as much growth as in the first.)
