Good book, you got to read it, if you read the first three, its truly a soft happy book.:D
... I'm going to take a break from yearly reading goals in 2024 ...
Not my favorite Anne. It read more like a gossip column and had less of the fanciful whimsy that you expect to revel in with Anne. But I guess one had to expect that going in knowing there would be three years of Gilbert at school to account for.

I have a feeling I’m not going to be as invested in Anne books going forward.. Unfortunately, I’m just not interested in a settled Anne who dwells on other people’s problems. Although some of the stories in here touched me, as a whole, I wasn’t too enthralled with the book. To be repeatedly put through the same recycled scenario of Anne using her wisdom and wit to help someone else solve their problems eventually became incredibly banal. It was others who developed as characters, not Anne. To go from one of the most compelling coming-of-age stories I’ve read (i.e., Island) to the equivalent of a largely inconsequential, small-town fanfiction was simply disappointing. I will be starting House of Dreams, but there’s no guarantee I’ll be able to finish it. All that being said, objectively this is a well-written book that does fulfill its purpose, so my rating isn’t as low as my personal complaints would imply.

Not as good as the other Anne books, but I still enjoyed it greatly.
