I’ll start my review by saying that I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone who likes political thrillers, detailed gunplay/action, or fast paced plot-driven fiction.
That said, there were a lot of eye-rolls from me, the reader, with the heavy handed political slant installed by the author. The author is very talented and only stumbled in this book by being sure the readers know his opinions on “the political climate” and various other “liberal agendas.” Conveniently, the analysis of what could cause the major catalyst for the plot seemed to forget the systems that allow for these types of things to be reasonably possible- and the analysis doesn’t dive any deeper than surface level “liberal policy” or “greed” as the cause.
Great book though despite all above. I enjoy reading things that challenge me and make me think, which this book did. I think if it had been written from a first-person perspective, it would have been easier to see the heavy slant as the protagonist’s viewpoint and not have it be obviously the author’s viewpoint which distracts from an otherwise awesome story. Read it, form your own opinions, and be kind to one another.

My husband and I really enjoy this book! I heard him on a podcast and my husband blew through this whole series. Can’t wait to read more from Mr. Carr!
