I forgot how enchanting this book is! Worth reading multiple times. One of my favorites and definitely a book I will revisit again and again in the future.
Sophie is perhaps one of my favorite fictional characters. The way she adapts herself to change is absolutely perfect. She takes everything in stride and won't put up with nonsense. Anyone interested in a quick fantasy read should pick up Howl's Moving Castle.

I read this book as a child and have watched the movie a thousand times since. Rereading it now really made me appreciate the story, even as different from the movie as it is. Diana’s voice is so unique and I loved seeing all the subtle ways Howl loved Sophie from the beginning.

This was a great story, I liked the movie better, but this book was enjoyable and extended the movie that a lot of people are familiar with.

I thoroughly enjoyed the first half of the book and despite the latter half being a bit absurd, confusing, and not altogether satisfying, I still thought it was a decent read. If for nothing else, it is part of pop culture, what with the studio ghibli adaptation. I just wish the latter half had wrapped up in a more comprehensive and less abrupt manner.
