honestly, i totally didn't give this book the chance it deserved originally. as someone who isn't really into urban fantasy, this was a little corny but thoroughly entertaining. ruhn and day are my favourite characters by a long shot, where tharion and ithan are deeply boring, especially tharion. i despise having to read his POV, where i adore ruhn's. the pacing of this book is great and i'm so glad i get to read HOFAS straight after now that it's out. no ending will hit quite like the ending of this book.

3.5/5 - not every fantasy book needs to be 800 pages. The last 75 pages were great though.
