I wanted to like this book so bad. I’ve been reading it through Libby and had to renew it because I was holding out hope it would get better. But it didn’t. It was repetitive, Lydia was the only semi likeable character, and it went on for too long. I think it had potential but it just lost my interest at so many points throughout. I’ve been trying to dive deeper into thriller/horror, too, but explicit descriptions of female torture that are just torture p*rn? Not really for me

Was not expecting so much gore, reminded me of girl with the dragon tattoo type scenes. Overall, good fall read.

I loved this book. I'm someone that loves thrillers, mysteries, dark. But, even though I loved it, it was very hard to read because of the crimes descriptions.
